Abigail's Party Director Cast Interview
It's England 1977. It's the time of the Queen's Silver Jubilee and there is anarchy in the UK with punk rock and a party is occurring in a lower middle class setting with five characters intermingling in comical and sometimes tragic-comedic ways. Such is the setting for Mike Leigh's play Abigail's Party on social norms.
It had been voted one of the best British comedies of all-time and this production exemplifies what the Brits do best: a comedy of manners and error and faux paux deluxe.
As acted by Anna Hardwick (Beverly), Dylan Roberts (Lawrence), Cody Ray Thompson (Tony), Clair Burns (Angela), and Astrid Van Wieren (Sue) all Canadian actors is not only spot on as directed by John Shoot but characterize to perfection.

John Shooter origins from Britain and currently a recent resident in Toronto.

The play has a a good sense of momentum that builds tension well, which is of that reminiscent in England with enough laughs to entertain any audience Canadian, American or whomever.
